🟢 General Questions
Who is The Sweat Shop for?
The Sweat Shop is for everyone from first-time runners and walkers to experienced road and trail athletes. Whether you’re training for your first 5km, a marathon, an ultra, or simply looking for comfortable footwear for an active lifestyle, our goal is to help you move comfortably and confidently.
Do I need to be a serious runner to shop here?
Not at all. Many of our customers are beginners or recreational runners. We believe the right guidance and footwear early on can help prevent discomfort and injury, making running more enjoyable from the start.
Is a more expensive running shoe always better?
No. The best running shoe is the one that suits your foot shape, movement, and intended use — not the price tag. Our role is to guide you toward the most appropriate option for your needs and budget.
How often should I replace my running shoes?
Most running shoes last between 500–700km, depending on usage, running surface, and body weight. Signs it may be time to replace them include reduced cushioning, discomfort, or new aches and pains.
Can I use running shoes for gym or walking?
Running shoes are designed specifically for forward motion and impact absorption. While they can be used for casual walking, we generally recommend sport-specific footwear for gym training or cross-training activities.
Do running socks really matter?
Yes. Running-specific socks help manage moisture, reduce friction, and prevent blisters — especially over longer distances.
What sizing do you use?
Running shoes are typically sized using US sizing unless otherwise stated. Our staff can assist with conversions if needed.
What’s your best advice for new runners?
Start slowly, listen to your body, and invest in proper footwear early on. Running should feel enjoyable not painful. If you’re unsure, our team is always happy to guide you.
