Named after the Greek mythological winged horse, Pegasus, Nike have wanted this shoe to represent the dependability of a horse but yet the capability of quickness and the allure of flying. To meet this intention, the Pegasus 37 sits right in the middle of the spectrum between a racing flat and well-cushioned trainer. It's a versatile streamlined distance shoe, made to offer some runners the sweet spot between cushioning and speed.

CATEGORY: Neutral, moderate cushioning

Everyday training, right in middle of the spectrum between a racing flat and max-cushioned trainer. Versatile use.

WEIGHT: ~235g (Women's UK5.5) / ~285g (Men's UK8)
DROP: ~10 mm
STACK HEIGHT: ~24mm (heel) /14mm (forefoot)
ZOOM AIR PODS: Forefoot, lower pressure for Women (~15 PSI / 1 BAR), higher pressure for Men (~20 PSI / 1.4 BAR)

Updates vs Pegasus 36

Nike have replaced their midsole material, Cushlon, for a more responsive midsole material, React, and have increased the midsole cushioning 2mm (this adds ~5g to the shoe). React gives the shoe a plush but not mushy feeling.

With the adjusted midsole material, Nike have also adjusted their Zoom Air Pods from full midsole length to now concentrated on the forefoot section of the shoe. The pressure of their Zoom Air Pods are now male/female specific, with Men's shoes having a slightly higher pressure than Women's.

The upper has also been updated, now using a seamless one-piece upper made from a woven mesh and secured with wider lacing bands than compared with the 36. This allows a more adaptive and anchored fit, especially if the midfoot felt slightly tight wearing the Pegasus 36. This woven mesh also reduces any inflexibility of the shoe that might result from rigid upper overlays. That being said, a simpler upper may not prevent the piercing of the upper for pronounced toe lifters as well layered uppers would.

The collar of the heel counter flares out from the Achilles tendon which will reduces the risk of friction and irritation without affecting the fit of the shoe.
